Hi Graziela,
I've found what caused the problem, but can't tell how it has happened.
Looks like the combination of FED-TT07 was somehow created for a certain period. The reason I'm saying it is there's only one system doesn't have the combination. We had the production system copied into the development system a couple of years ago and that is where we run the sync. tool. But, then how could I transport the data not even in the system. @.@
Well, anyway, for now, I can at least prevent the error generated.
Thank you.
Euna
Hi Paul and Jaya,
While I can't speak specifically to a Unix installation, in the Windows environment I do not recommend using the command-line to install the license, but rather the TaxFactory GUI client. So, you aren't directly logged onto the server console at all, but do this from your workstation. Launch the client and connect and logon as the TF10 user there. I cover this in my blog at BSI TaxFactory 10 Installation for SQL Server - Part 3, and while the blog is oriented toward SQL Server installations, the license key installation portion should be pretty much the same.
Cheers,
Matt
Hi Paul,
Are you setting your environment variables before running the tf10lic command? We use Linux with an Oracle DB and I have to explicitly set my environment variables before running the tf10lic command. Here is an example:
setenv ORACLE_SID ABC
setenv ORACLE_HOME /oracle/ABC/112
setenv LD_LIBRARY_PATH /oracle/ABC/112/lib
setenv DATABASE tf10/<password>@ABC
This way tf10lic knows to use the tf10 user with <password> to access the database (ABC) and update the table (BTXMINFO). You can set these at the command line as SIDadm and they will only be temporarily set for that session. They will reset to your defaults the next you log on.

hi Mike,
yes that was the issue. i have manually setenv DATABASE and it worked.
hi Graziela,
after we run the sync we have a problem in payroll:
The taxable gross is the same (previous period compared to current one) but the tax withheld is different. There is a field in IT0210 called additional withheld, that seems to be not considered. The amount in this field is the tax difference.
can somebody advice?
Hi all,
We installed tax locator package 58 but in the BSI system tools it is showing as package 27. Is there a cross reference table somewhere that correlates these?

Greg
Abhishek,
We are facing similar issue with few Tax Auth in T5UTD.
Did you ever get a response from SAP ? how did you fix this?
Aman Kumar
Hello Aman,
You may look into note related to BSI in SP release 91. I am off work for while, so could note tell exact note number. But yeah its solution note is in SP91, thats what i remember. Hope this helps you.
Thanks,
Abhishek
Hello Abhishek,
Please check SAP note 2191011 - BSI: Sync. Payroll Tax Data fails due to overlapping entries, this would solve your issue.
Thanks,
Manish M.
Hello Madhav,
Yes, we experienced this. We actually had to change the BSI formula for all of 2015 in table V_BTXRATE (and in BSI, of course). So there were two records
01/01 - 06/30/2015 BSI Formula 2 $9500
07/01 - 12/31/9999 BSI Formula 2 $9000
Also, check V_T5UTLA if you get some rounding issues as a result.
Good luck,
Brandyn
Brandyn,
I created an inquiry regarding the MI issue because I am experiencing the same issue as Madhva B.
http://scn.sap.com/message/16269962#16269962
We did create new entires with a 07/01/2015 effective date in the BTXRATE table and BSI. I noted that you are using formula 2 for your entries, so I recreated my entries in our test system to see would that resolve the issue and the system is still reducing the wage base by $500 to $9000.00.
Are there any other suggestions?
Madhava - Have you had any success?
Hi Cherylnita,
I haven't tried the option which Brandyn has suggested. Let me try and update you both.
Thanks
Hi Cherylnita,
Did you try running a forced recalc in payroll back to the prior quarter?
Also, check V_T5UTX.
MI Michigan 10 Employer Unemployment Tax 2015/06/30 2015/01/01 9,500.00 0.127000
MI Michigan 10 Employer Unemployment Tax 9999/12/31 2015/07/01 9,000.00 0.127000
Brandyn
Brandyn,
I am still getting the reduction in the max wage base. I have completed the following:
- Created new entries in BSI and BTXRATE table for the 07/01/2015 wage base decrease using formula 2.
- Retro'd the payroll simulation back to second quarter.
- Confirmed the entry for the MI 07/01/2015 update is in table T5UTX.
The BSI Interface is providing the following message " The YTD tax and the calcuated pay period tax have been automatically adjusted so that the taxes and wages are in sync."
I have found the solution to the issue with the reduction in the wage base for MI back to $9000 before 07/01/2015.
Steps to Resolve are listed below:
*The 07/01/2015 entries to the BTXRATE table and BSI must use Formula 2 if you are currently using Formula 1.
*Also update the MI entries in table V_T5UTD "Assignment of Tax Authorities to Tax Type" to default to Formula Number 2. This must be effective 07/01/2015 if you are currently using Formula 1.
Thanks Brandyn and Madhav B for your assistance.
I am amazed seeing TCS internal resources asking for assisting on quoting an estimate for BSI project implementation....
Hi Cherylnita,
To summarise on the changes needed,
BTXRATE & BSI
----------------------
Till 06/30/2015 - Formula 1
effective 07/01/2015 - Formula No .2
T5UTD
----------
effective 07/01/2015 - Formula No .2
I would assume that we don't need to run a forced retro run back to the prior quarter as the Formula 2 would take care of it.
Thanks
Madhav.
Madhav,
You are correct on the configuration steps.
In my testing I did complete a forced retro back to 07/01/2015. For our salaried employees that have not had a payment in the current quarter I was able to run an adjustment check with a payment date of 09/30/2015 to update the reportable wages. This allowed Tax Reporter to run with no errors.
For our hourly employee's that have received payments in the new quarter will probably require YAWA processing. I am working with our Payroll Tax group now to finalize the processing.
Hi Graziela
Tax reciprocity is not working for employees working in DC and living in any other states after applying support packs 80 - 86. SAP is not passing RC: 3 to BSI tax factory. I checked my configuartion and looks good. It was working fine before we applied these support packs. Please advice us.
We are at:
Support packs: SP86
BSI Tax factory: 10.0.g
Bulletins: 50
Thanks,
Venkat
